The Uniform Bureau consists of the Precincts, Special Operations Units, and the Adjutant Offices.  The activities of this bureau are managed by the Deputy Chief.  The adjutant assigned to the Deputy Chief of the Uniform Bureau is Major G.R. Davis.  He is responsible for the Uniform Bureau when the Deputy Chief is absent. 

Cobb County is divided into five precincts.  Each precinct is commanded by a Major who is responsible to his precinct within his area of operation for the preservation of life, property, order, initial investigation of crime, suppression of criminal activity, and enforcement of State Law and County Ordinances.  The Precinct Commander is supported by all components of the Department in order to successfully execute these responsibilities.  Shift Lieutenants at each precinct act as Precinct Commander in his absence.                    

The Special Operations Unit is under the command of a Major and reports directly to the Deputy Chief.  This unit is responsible for dedicated police operations designed to meet specific law enforcement objectives within the County.  The unit is divided into the following activities:
 

Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Task Force
Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP)
Hit & Run Unit
Motorcycle (Motor) Unit
K-9 Unit
Tactical (TAC) Team
CAGE Unit (Anti-Gang)


The Bureau Adjutant is a Lieutenant and is responsible for the following units:

Court Liaison Unit
School Crossing Guard Unit
Ranger Unit
