Testing for Police Officer

The next Police Officer entrance exam be on Thursday, May 29th at 1800 hrs.  The exam will be given at the DPS Training Center.  The physical agility test will be given to out of state candidates and military candidates ONLY on Friday, May 30th at 0800 hrs. on an optional basis.  Please remember to bring the appropriate clothing for performing the physical agility part of the examination process (i.e. running shoes, workout clothing, etc.).  For all other candidates or those who choose not to attend the physical agility test on the 30th, the next physical agility test will be given on Saturday, June 7th with no exceptions.

Applicant Testing Steps

We currently accept applications via the "Online Application" link  Once on the online application page click on "Open Positions" on the left side of the page.  Then scroll down to the open Police Officer position and click to begin the online application process.

The Human Resources Department will e-mail applicants the test packet information within the week of signing up. 

Applicants will be notified by Cobb County Human Resources Employment Center as to their final results of the Police Officer Examination . Applicants that are successful will be furnished forms and a background booklet to complete and turn in.

Other tests that will be required are:

  •  Polygraph examination

  •  Medical examination

  •  Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Exam 

  •  Clinical and Written Psychological

Successful applicants will be scheduled for the final interview with the Cobb County Chief of Police.
