Deferred Compensation Cobb County offers a Deferred Compensation Plan which will enable you to build tax-deferred retirement savings. With this plan, you may contribute a portion of your salary to a number of investment choices before Federal and State taxes.

Seat belt Benefit- $10,000 additional benefit if you die as the result of a traffic accident while wearing your seat belt.

Benefit Bank The Benefit Bank is a special program that helps you stretch your income and save on out-of-pocket health and dependent care expenses. By estimating your expenses for the year and depositing  funds into the Benefit Bank, you can pay for out-of-pocket health and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. You would also have access to the banked funds when you need them the most (i.e. point of service, for deductibles, etc.

Retirement Vested after 7 years
Overtime Pay After 86 hours in a bi-weekly period, paid time and a half for additional hours worked. Overtime is added to your gross income and is not treated as comp time.
On-call Pay If your assignment requires being on call, you will receive 2 hours on call pay for standby status. If you are called out, you are paid your regular time.
Work Cycle Five days on/two days off. Once a month, shifts are rotated forward 1 day. You are normally assigned a permanent shift. Currently our shifts run as day, evening, and morning watch.
Tuition Reimbursement The amounts are dependent upon available funding. Total funding available will be proportionately distributed to all pre-approved applicants on a quarterly basis. Tuition Reimbursement is available for a degree or certification.  
Veteran's Benefit Cobb County Police Academy has been approved by the Georgia Department of Veterans Service for on-the-job-training program. If you are a veteran and have contributed to the G.I. Bill, you will be eligible to receive monetary benefits while in the academy, during your training program and your first 18 months working test period. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO YOUR POLICE SALARY.
Fitness Centers Each Precinct has an on-site Fitness Center that is geared toward strength training. All  are open 24 hours.  Additional on-site Fitness Center's are located at HQ & Training.

Cobb County Police road supervisors are armed with Heckler & Koch G36 semi-automatic rifles. Three supervisors per precinct carry the weapon.
